Learning New Faces and New Names They say you can't tell the players without a program, and you can't tell the students without a facebook. Distribute facebooks to each student to ease their orientation, and help them learn the names and faces of their classmates. Distribute to parents during Parents' Weekend to give them a sense of their child's belonging. Distribute facebooks to staff and faculty to facilitate name learning and increase the comfort level of everyone involved. Now, take advantage of technology and order an on-line facebook. This electronic version comes in full color, and can be browsed and searched from any platform (PC or Mac). This is an invaluable tool for matching students' faces with their names. Useful on an administrative network, in the Business Office, in the library, in the security office, and in the dining areas.
Odin Photo ID cards come in two basic varieties, chip ("smart") cards and barcoded cards. The chip cards are designed to work with Odin Full Debit Card Systems, while the barcoded cards are designed to work with the Point-of-Sale and Intermediate Debit Card Systems. The chip cards can be supplemented with a barcode (for library applications) and either type of card can be supplemented with a magnetic stripe, for other uses.  
The cards can be customized with school logos and other information to give your school its own unique "look."  The images (photos) for the IDs can be obtained in different ways, according to your preference. If you already have the images in electronic format, we can use those directly. If you have hardcopy photos, we can scan them in and convert them. Or, we can come to your school and take the photos ourselves. You decide which way works best for you!
The chore of processing images has been made easier with Odin’s Imaging software. This program allows you to process and manipulate photo images used to make Photo IDs and Facebooks.First, the Imaging Program helps you to convert the image formats into a usable form. Then, it walks you through processing and associating the images to certain files and directories. With the Image Editor, you can become an artist. Pictures can be "touched up" by changing the brightness, contrast, blur, hue, and other factors to yield the best possible images. Images also can be rotated, cropped, and resized to get them to fit your application perfectly. The Facebook utility allows you to generate a facebook from your set of images. Similarly, the Photo ID Printing utility lets you print out ID cards—one at a time, or a selected subset based on criteria you choose. Back to Top |
